How to maintain your radio control car

It is very important to maintain the material to avoid unnecessary breakage. Depending on the place where it is used, the frequency with which we must act on our car will vary, although if we move forward, it will never hurt.

First of all we will dismantle the body and start with a general cleaning, either with air pressure, or with a strong and dry brush, in no case we will use water or soap for it. It is necessary to remove all dirt from all corners, taking special care with electrical components such as battery, motor (in electric models), variator, servo and receiver.

In some cars it is necessary to remove some cover to access the main transmission, which connects the pinion of the engine with the central crown, and these are the two gears that we must clean, as it is possible to enter stones and stay stuck between the teeth, being necessary to use a small screwdriver to be able to unlock and remove them. We must take special care when reassembling the covers so that everything is closed and protected to the maximum.

In the electric motor, when carrying cooling windows, the entry of dust and small stones is possible, so we must also keep it clean, using a clean contact spray.

As for the bearings, we can use products such as WD-40 to clean and lubricate them at the same time, keeping in mind that we must let the remaining product evaporate or dry before returning to roll with our vehicle.

We recommend removing the battery from the car and leaving it charged if we are not going to use it in a medium or long period of time.
